The actor smoking list found here tell yet another story of how the entertainment industry has almost single handedly caused nicotine addiction to many people who now smoke generation after generation.

There are countless smoking actors in Hollywood and elsewhere that have come and gone. Some are still here. All of them ought to be in this actor smoking list but due to space some but not all are listed. Clearly male celebrity smoking is rampant.

Anti-smoking lobbyists and groups have always fiercely opposed the use of smoking celebrities and actors in movies and TV programs.

The most worrisome part is that not all actors who appear smoking actually smoke in real life. Yet their single appearance in movies give a different impression to teenage movie patrons.

Hundreds of these smoking actors have in fact received endorsement fees at one point or another from major tobacco smoking companies. This dates way back to the 1930s. The impact on teen tobacco use can not be underestimated. Smoking actors have been accused of initiating teens into smoking. The final verdict is yours; but the facts have a story to tell.

From 2004 to 2007 over 700 actors of "high standing" (as you will shortly see in the smoking list below) used tobacco in over 400 films and movies shown across the United States and subsequently the rest of the world. Anything that hits big in the US is sure bound to be big elsewhere in an entertainment global village.

At least 42% of the movies and films they played the smoking role were passed for youth viewing.

This actor smoking list also reveals how celebrities shape teen feelings, perceptions and behavior. It has been established that teens who follow actors who smoke are 16 times more likely to view smoking tobaccoin a positive light.

Actor smoking list playing at least three smoking roles in a movie

Clive Owen [pictured left] has had a dramatic raise in the film industry. He played an astounding over 60% smoking role in a total of five movies which included Closer, Derailed and Inside man.

Vince Vaughn [pictured right]an American film actor appeared smoking in at least five movies four of which were PG-13. These movies included Be Cool and Anchorman and others.

Paul Giamatti featured in four movies wth PG-13 rating and one a PG smoking. The movies include Cinderella Man, The Nanny Diaries, Paycheck and The Illusionist amongst others.

Don Cheadle [not pictured] also appeared in five movies smoking. The movies included After The Sunset, Crash, Talk to Me and others.

Christopher Walken - played a smoking role in two PG-13 movies. Movies include balls of Fury, Man of The Year, Weddings Crashers and others.
Jude Law - appeared in Alfie, The Aviator, Closer and others
Samuel L. Jackson - smoked in Kill Bill, Vol.2, Twisted,Black Snake Moan and 1408 (PG-13 rated)
Terrence Howard - smoked in ray (PG-13),Idlewild, Hustle & Flow and Get Rich or Die Tryin'.
Ben Affleck - smokes in Jersey girl (PG-13), Paycheck (PG-13), Smokin' Aces and Hollywoodland.
Alec Baldwin - smoked in The Aviator, Fun with Dick and Jane, The Good Shepered and Running with Scissors

Actor smoking list who appeared smoking in at least three movies

Ashley Judd [pictured left] appeared in De-Lovely a PG-13 movie as a total smoker. She also smoked in Twisted and Bug. In real life she has once smoked and has quit cigars.

Jamie Foxx [pictured right] an American actor smoked in two PG-13 movies namely Ray and Dreamgirls. He also smoked in Jarhead.

Chi mcBride appeared in at least three movies one a PG-13 (The terminal) smoking. The movies include Let's Go to Prison and Waiting.

J.K. Simmons [not pictured] smoked in at least three PG-13 movies namely Spider man 2 and Spider man 3 as well as Hidalgo. Millions of kids have watched the Spider man series.

Other un-pictured smoking actors include;

John Slattery - in Dirty Dancing 2 (PG-13), Flags of Our Fathers and Charlie Wilson's War.
John Travolta - tried to be cool by smoking in Be Cool (PG-13), Ladder 49 (PG-13) and The Punisher.
Denzel Washington - smoked in American Gangster, Man on Fire and The Manchurian Candidate
